Broadway and CA Community Theatre

Inspired by the article 'You Can Now Stream Broadway Shows Online Like Netflix,' we asked about California community theatre and the influence of Broadway.

BroadwayHD is an online streaming service on a mission to promote and preserve live theatre, extending the reach of Broadway and Broadway caliber shows to anyone, anywhere. Founded by Broadway producers Stewart F. Lane and Bonnie Comley, BroadwayHD is capturing and then transporting the magic of performance from the stage to your screen—so if you can’t get to Broadway, get to BroadwayHD.

I am assuming the royalty fees would be too much for our young theater at this time.

Seeing the show is so much better than reading it.

I look to them because my patrons and the actors in my area are aware of them. I have to stay reasonably current or I will not know what they are pinning for!

Mostly to ascertain if it is technically possible to do them

Seeing what is now or might be available for future productions

"I was hoping that this was a service that would record shows as they perform on Broadway stages and then allow those of us who can not travel to New York to see them.  For example, I was disappointed I never have made it to New York and have missed shows like Disney’s Tarzan and Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark."
