This month, we asked theatres to share with us their ticketing program and software information. Read and explore below to find out what's trending in California Community Theatre

What works particularly well for you

using this software or program?

Easy to use and inexpensive. Don’t get charged for a bunch of bells & whistles we don’t need.

(WinTix/WebTix)

SINCE ALL OUR SEATS AS UNASSIGNED, THIS PROGRAM WORKS WELL BECAUSE OF THE EASE OF USE AND THE LOW COST.

(USB SWIPER / PAYPAL)

It's easy to use, we like the reports

(Showclix)

No ongoing costs.

(Row Seats plugin on Wordpress site.)

Ease of event building, easily learned program, Flexpass as a subscription method

(Vendini)

reservations, print at home tickets

(Vendini)

When I arrived at FRT no one could tell me a patron's history, or how many season subscribers we had because each AD before me kept those records in a different way. By using Arts People we have created an accurate database which is owned by the theatre and which does not require any one person to pass along "institutional memory" or record keeping. It is ALL in Arts People. Arts People is easy to use, provides a complete record of a patrons ticketing and donations, allows me to use my data in many valuable ways including targeted marketing, it has great reports, and perhaps most importantly Arts People give fantastic 24/7 customer service. Also, they offer a discount to AACT member theatres. I HIGHLY recommend Arts People.

(Arts People)

We use all features of the Program, they are all great for reporting, the fact that I have programming experience I often offer advice to the creators as to features we would like

(Tick-It! Trak Pro)

Being able to "turn off" the service in months when we're not selling tickets really helps keep the cost down.

(Thundertix)

I love Brown Paper Tickets...no cost to the producer when a ticket is purchased - and a very small fee to the purchaser. Easy online service to use - absolutely free.

(Brown Paper Tickets)

What are the challenges working with this software?

I haven't found one yet.

(Revel for our point of sale system and Brown Paper Tickets for ticketing)

It’s not a Cadillac. It’s an economy car. But it’s gets us there and does what it is supposed to.

(WinTix/WebTix)

NO PARTICULAR CHALLENGE.

(USB SWIPER / PAYPAL)

We would like to be able to offer season tickets, and this really is not set up for that.

(Showclix)

Doesn't have the best documentation.

(Row Seats plugin on Wordpress site)

Occasionally we need something they just haven't engineered yet. But weve been doing computer based sales since the mid 90s before they were founded, hence are ability to think of a new wrinkle. but with vendini we can usually find a good work around till they catch up.

(Vendini)

chamging seating configuration takes some time

(Vendini)

Any challenges I have encountered have been quickly and pleasantly addressed by customer service.

(Arts People)

There are none, we have a great working relationship with the program creators.
